Workspace Settings

Configure calculation defaults and display preferences. Changes apply to newly created or regenerated kundalis.

Snapshot semantics

Changing ayanamsha or node mode does not recalculate saved kundalis automatically. Open a chart and click Regenerate to apply new settings.

Ayanamsha

The ayanamsha is the offset between the tropical and sidereal zodiac. Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) is the standard in modern Indian practice.

Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) — Indian standard

Official Indian National Calendar standard. Calibrated to the vernal equinox of 285 CE; used by most classical and modern Jyotish practitioners.

Raman — B.V. Raman system

B.V. Raman's personal system, preferred within the Raman school. Runs approximately 1.5° earlier than Lahiri.

KP — Krishnamurti Paddhati

Krishnamurti Paddhati. Uses star-lord and sub-lord sub-divisions within each nakshatra for precise event timing.

Fagan-Bradley — western sidereal

Common western sidereal frame. Useful when you need to compare this kundali against non-Indian sidereal research or software.

True Chitra — star-anchored Spica frame

A Spica-anchored frame close to Lahiri and KP. Good for side-by-side comparison when you want a star-referenced Chitra baseline.

Yukteswar — yogic sidereal frame

Sri Yukteswar's lineage-specific frame. Use when matching readings from Yogananda or kriya-oriented chart traditions.

Rahu / Ketu Node Mode

Mean node uses a smoothed lunar orbit average. True node accounts for periodic oscillations and differs by up to ~1.7° from mean.

Rahu / Ketu Dignity Tradition

Choose which exaltation / debilitation school to use for Rahu and Ketu when chart dignity is shown in reports.

BPHS tradition Rahu is treated as exalted in Taurus and debilitated in Scorpio, with Ketu reversed on the same axis. Modern tradition Rahu is treated as exalted in Scorpio and debilitated in Taurus, with Ketu reversed on the same axis.

Preferred Chart Style

The Birth Chart tab will show this style first.

Report Depth

Controls how many life areas and detail items appear in the predictions section of each kundali report.

Surface — top 3 areas, quick read Standard — all 5 areas, balanced Deep — all areas, full detail

Report Preset

Sets the reading voice for predictions and the long-form horoscope section without changing the underlying calculations.

Professional astrologer Keeps the classical terminology, richer reasoning, and software-style expert narration visible by default. Family-friendly Prefers simpler wording, practical takeaways, and less technical chart language unless you explicitly choose deeper reading.

Default Language

Sets the default interface language and report language. You can still switch mid-session using the language toggle.
